SMS Notifications & Consent
Operated by: ML Software, LLC, Castle Rock, Colorado.
Purpose: Automated text reminders sent to existing Renewal IQ customers before a permit, license, or certificate they track in the Service expires.
1. Who Receives These Messages
Only existing Renewal IQ account holders receive text messages, and only after they add a mobile number and affirmatively check the SMS consent box inside their account. We do not purchase, rent, or import phone number lists, and we do not send marketing or promotional text messages of any kind.
SMS is optional and is never required to create an account or use the Service. Email reminders are the default and remain available whether or not text messages are enabled.
2. How Consent Is Collected
Consent is collected inside the application at Settings → Notifications. A user adds a mobile number to a notification recipient and then checks an unchecked consent box. The box is never pre-checked, and the number receives no messages until the box is checked and saved.
The SMS consent checkbox as it appears at Settings → Notifications inside a Renewal IQ account.
The consent box carries the following disclosure, word for word:
The consent box sits directly beneath the phone number field, with links to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy immediately below it.
When the box is checked and saved, Renewal IQ records the consent against that specific phone number together with the date and time it was given and the IP address it was given from. Consent is stored per number, not per account, and removing the number removes the consent.
3. What the Messages Look Like
4. Message Frequency
Up to 5 messages per permit renewal cycle. Message volume depends on how many permits an account tracks and how close those permits are to expiring. Reminders are sent on a schedule set by the account holder, with a default of 60, 30, 14, 7, and 1 day before an expiration date.
5. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. How to Opt Out
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately. Reply HELP for help, or contact matthew@renewal-iq.com.
A number can also be removed at any time inside the account at Settings → Notifications, either by unchecking the consent box or by deleting the recipient entirely. Opting out of SMS does not affect email reminders.
7. Mobile Information Is Not Shared
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers collected for SMS are used solely to deliver the reminders the account holder requested. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers. Information may be shared only with the telecommunications providers required to transmit the message, and never for their own marketing.
